<\/p>\nLeonard was in a high speed, head-on auto accident in October 2016. He had severe pain from fractures all over his body. His legs and left arm were immobilized. Leonard relied on the Transitional\u00a0Car by Saint Therese care team at North Memorial Health\u00a0Hospital for nearly every movement. His therapists focused on managing Leonard’s pain enough to sit upright more comfortable for extended periods of time.<\/p>\n
Eventually, Leonard transferred to Saint Therese at Oxbow Lake where a warm water therapy pool awaited his arrival. He was prescribed aquatic therapy to improve his strength, flexibility, and function. By January 2017, Leonard’s hard work paid off. He returned home.<\/p>\n
Leonard’s progress continued. He graduated to outpatient\u00a0therapy and home health\u00a0care with Ascend and is now an active Wellness Center member a Saint Therese where he enjoys the pool with fully-restored, pain-free independent mobility.<\/p>\n
